Curated Wine Collection No. 2: Natural Orange Wines

As natural wines continue to grow in popularity, a favorite has emerged for many: orange wine. Despite that recent surge, the style itself dates back as far as 5000 years. During the winemaking process, white grapes have extended contact with skins and seeds that lead to dry, tannic wines loaded with flavor. Each wine in this curated trio represents the category well with origins ranging from the Texas High Plains to Northern Spain.

2023 Friends Blend from The Austin Winery in Texas is a co-ferment of 65% Muscat grown at Crooked Post Vineyards and 35% Picpoul Blanc from Kubacak Vineyards. Two days of maceration lead to flavors of ginger and lemon drops.

2023 Orange Crush from Limited Addition is an extended co-fermentation of Muscat, Pinot Gris, and Riesling from the Aurora and Tsai Vineyards. It's aromatic and dry with guava, rhubarb, and white strawberry notes.

2023 Skin Contact from Gaupasa features 100% Garnacha Blanca from Bodegas Navarrsotillo. 12 days of contact make this unique offering zesty and complex, with tropical fruit and savory herb flavors.
